Expansive Interior & Exterior Signage Project for LT Apparel Group

Introduction

The expansion of LT Apparel Group into their new Greensboro, NC-based corporate office and warehouse marked a significant milestone for the children’s apparel leader. With their product design group already based at Revolution Mill in Greensboro, NC, LT Apparel Group further expanded their North Carolina operations to include a distribution center at the Reedy Fork Corporate Park in Brown Summit, NC.

However, the challenge was clear: transforming the freshly built, empty space into a branded environment that would truly reflect their identity. To achieve this, they partnered with Triad Signs, a division of Brand Connect, to transform the bare facility into a vibrant, fully branded space. This blog post shows how Triad Signs collaborated with LT Apparel Group and their designer to implement a creative, on-brand look throughout their warehouse facility.

Background: LT Apparel Group Vision

LT Apparel Group is a prominent name in the children’s apparel market, managing iconic brands like Adidas® Kids and Carhartt® Kids. With an already established presence in the Greensboro area, this new warehouse was a pivotal part of their growth strategy. The company’s focus was not only on efficiency and functionality but also on branding that aligned with their mission, both for employees and visitors alike.

Project Overview: Transforming a Blank Slate

Triad Signs was tasked with branding an 800,000 sq. ft. space—a combination of interior and exterior signage solutions that would reflect LT Apparel Group’s brand from the first moment someone walked through the door. The challenge was turning the bare concrete floors and stark white walls into an immersive, brand-driven experience that echoed the vibrancy of the company’s products and values.

Initial Challenges

As stated before, when LT Apparel Group moved into the new warehouse, they were greeted with an empty space. The environment lacked the dynamic branding necessary to showcase their identity. The company needed more than simple signage. They needed a transformation that would blend form and function with clear branding and practical wayfinding.

Collaboration and Planning

The project began with in-depth conversations between Triad Signs, LT Apparel Group, and David Grubbs. What started as a discussion about exterior signs quickly evolved into a comprehensive branding strategy for both the inside and outside of the facility. This collaboration allowed the team to fully understand the company’s goals, which led to a tailored solution that combined aesthetics with practicality.

Exterior Signage Solutions

The exterior signage was critical for setting the tone. Triad Signs installed dimensional lettering featuring LT Apparel Group’s logo, prominently positioned to greet visitors and employees alike. Additionally, the team created numbered signage for 94 dock doors, a functional element that reinforced better navigation to the site’s drop off or pick up points. These clean, modern exterior elements made an immediate impact, establishing a professional and branded presence before anyone stepped inside.

Interior Signage Solutions

Inside the facility, Triad Signs took on the challenge of creating a cohesive branded environment. Large wall graphics filled the expansive warehouse space, bringing much-needed color and energy. The lobby was adorned with brushed aluminum signage, setting a professional tone from the moment someone entered. Throughout the space, PVC marketing panels and dimensional cutouts provided depth, while 3M vinyl quotes and branding elements were strategically placed in the break room, cafeteria, and office areas, inspiring employees and reinforcing the company’s values.

Design and Material Selection

The success of the project hinged on careful material selection. Brushed aluminum was chosen for its modern, high-end appearance, particularly in the lobby signage. PVC was chosen for its durability and versatility, used to create bold, dimensional marketing panels. 3M vinyl proved essential for applying crisp, motivational wall quotes, and acrylic panels were selected for clear and professional logo displays throughout the facility. These thoughtful material choices ensured not only visual appeal but also longevity, important in such a large, frequently used space.

Installation Process

Successfully installing signage across an 800,000 sq. ft. facility was no small task. The installation of such a diverse range of signage required careful planning and execution. Triad Signs’ installation team worked meticulously to ensure precision and consistency. From large, outdoor signs to delicate indoor wall graphics, every piece of signage was securely installed to withstand daily wear while looking polished and professional. Coordination was key, as the team worked around an active site with minimal disruption to LT Apparel Group’s operations.

Phase One Completion: A Brand-Infused Environment

With the first phase of the project complete, the results were clear: LT Apparel Group now had a distribution center that not only served its functional purpose but also reinforced the company’s identity at every turn. From the moment visitors approached the building to the branded elements that filled the interior, the facility had been fully transformed into a branded space that supported both efficiency and employee morale.

Phase Two: Further Enhancements

The project wasn’t over yet! The next phase included even more branding elements but at LT Apparel’s Revolution Mill location, including acrylic signage to highlight the history of LT Apparel Group. These additions, along with more signage throughout the facility, will continue to build on the strong brand identity established.

The Power of a Collaborative Approach

This project’s success is a testament to the collaborative efforts of Triad Signs, LT Apparel Group, and designer David Grubbs. By working closely together, they developed a comprehensive strategy that exceeded expectations. The signage was fully integrated into the brand experience, transforming the facility into a space that represents LT Apparel Group’s values, mission, and growth.

Conclusion

The expansive signage project at LT Apparel Group’s warehouse in Brown Summit, NC is a testament to the power of strategic collaboration and expert execution. Triad Signs successfully transformed a bare, newly constructed facility into a branded distribution center. The project not only met but exceeded LT Apparel Group’s expectations, providing them with a space that is both functional and reflective of their brand.
